WHO ARE WE?
We make theatre and spaces for people that’s joyful, grounded, and collaborative. We tell emotionally resonant stories with big heart and no ego — the kind that feel like home, even when they break you a bit. Our work is varied; with a little something for everyone.
Meet the Founder
Hop Skip and a Jump was founded by Bronte Appleby, an actor-writer, facilitator and creative producer whose work is rooted in collaboration, care and a belief in the power of play.
Her practice centres co-creation with children and young people, creating theatre and creative spaces that feel joyful, grounded and genuinely shared.
She began producing at 18, leading a youth-led performance, and has since developed a practice that spans theatre, museums and education settings, alongside mentoring emerging practitioners & artists.
Bronte has worked with organisations including the Lowry, Contact, National Trust, Royal Exchange Theatre, Z-arts, Oldham Coliseum and SwitchMCR.
Her work has been recognised with an OFFIE commendation, and she continues to develop her practice through training in creative leadership, alongside her roles as a Creative Project Manager at Contact and a trustee for Culture Warrington.
